Well.. it has been awhile since a "real" post I guess. There is no real reason why.. I guess we just haven't been up to much and I'm in a slump... or both.
Of course there was "Snowpocalypse 2010" and then immediately following that, we had "Snowmageddon." Because the roads and metro were not cleaned up from the first storm (Friday - Saturday), I was not able to get to work on Monday or Tuesday. Then Tuesday afternoon-night and Wednesday came the second storm. In total, I would say we had approximately 4' fall within one week. We weren't able to really measure it since there was still snow on the ground from the first storm and then the second storm included wicked winds that created large drafts.
Following the second storm, I was again locked in the house. I finally got to work on Friday... after a THREE HOUR COMMUTE. My normal commute is 1.5 hours each way... still no treat. But yeah.. three hours. And I had to drive to a metro station at the opposite end from my regular station since my regular was still closed. Sweet.
We had my aunt and uncle stay over on Friday night while on their way down to my cousin's house in Florida. They gave us a good excuse to get the house cleaned up and organized. It was awesome to be able to show our house and work to people who haven't seen it before!
For Valentine's day, John got me up and out of bed by 8 am (!) and we were out the door to an unknown date. First we ended up at Friendly's for breakfast, then we went to the movies and saw "Valentine's Day." Yay! No complaints from John at all either! It was a cutesy movie... about what is to be expected from a chick flick, I would say. After the movie, John got gas for my car (so romantic!- I love not having to get it myself though!) and then we had "lunch" at Coldstone. YUM.
This week has flown by in a rush of making & assembling baby shower invitations and working on a business plan/early stages for my designing. Tomorrow night we will receive house guests for the weekend again- my parents, sister and her boyfriend... that is 6 people if you are counting. Our house is 960 SF if you want to count some more. It will be an experience for sure... Everyone will be in town because John's dad is going to give us a private tour of the White House. Pretty sweet eh? Apparently we can even bring cameras since it is a private tour, so I will see if I can get some pictures to show you all.
Lastly, I just wanted to show you this that I just got this morning.. yup that is the city I was in during November. Yikes.
If you read all of that you win a prize. I will award you 5 "cool points."

I read the whole thing =0)
A private tour of the White House sounds awesome! Especially b/c I have never been there (thankfully we just moved 30 minutes away though, haha, and as soon as it warms up we are going exploring!).
I love me some cool points.
I cannot believe how much snow y'all had. That is insane.
And I LOVE that the hubs planned out a Valentine's Day surprise for you! So nice!
