Amanda & Ben's Wedding! - Pt 1

Last weekend I went to my favorite place on earth to be a co-matron of honor in Amanda's wedding. You may remember that Amy and I threw Amanda a shower back in April.

I was SO excited for this wedding. Amanda and Ben are two of my best friends from my time at Tech and it was awesome to be there to see them get married.

John & I drove down to Blacksburg early Friday AM so that Amanda and I could get our nails done Friday afternoon. Amanda and Ben had pretty much finished setting up everything and just had to run some more errands, so after our mani/pedi, I went back to the hotel and napped.

The rehearsal was held at the church and provided a sneak preview of the decor for the next day. Amanda's mom did SO much to personalize the wedding. She created a gajillion pew ribbon/flower bundles, and decoration for the inside and outside of the church.

Amanda & Ben also added a couple more personal touches.

Memorial candles for their grandparents that were lit prior to the service.

The scrapbook paper guestbook and programs.

After the rehearsal we were treated to an awesome dinner of BBQ, chicken fingers, Amanda's mom's homemade mac & cheese and banana pudding. YUM.

The SWEET van that the BBQ came in!

Ben & Amanda w/the piggy van.

The crowd.

If you couldn't tell yet- to spice up the night, we all wore sports jerseys!

And.. I leave you with this:
Love, the flower girl who stole my camera.

The Rehearsal & Dinner

We rehearsed.

John's mom practicing her reading.

Our parents practicing the prayer.

..and those are the only two pictures I have from the rehearsal.

After the rehearsal we had the dinner (at Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse
for any Albany people). It was awesome. We had a separate little room that was perfect. John's parents pre-selected meal options (lots of different ones!).

After we finished eating, John and I handed out gifts to the bridal party. The groomsmen got custom bobbleheads from Whoopass Enterprises.

They were a big hit.

I showed you all the bridesmaid gifts already. In addition to the things that everyone got, Amanda got a VT puffy vest, Crystal got a chest w/wine accessories (charms, stopper, etc), my sister got VT flip flops & basketball shorts and Tiffani got a GC for a salon near her school for a manicure.

After we gave out the gifts, John surprised me with my wedding gift- a custom bobblehead of my own!
...of him... in heart boxers.

Last, we had a surprise cake- and Orioles cake that my mom got from Sam's. It was surprisingly good.

After the dinner wrapped up, several of the members of the bridal party heded to Denny's for a little snack. Tiffani and I have a tradition of going to Denny's in the middle of the night, and we wanted to go one more time. This also served as my bachelorette party. Does it get cancelled out because the boys were there too? Oh well.

We packed it in before too long, because I had to get up early the next morning.....
